Just 15 kilometres in the North of the village Split there is the village of Trogir situated. The village is a jewel and a real open-air-museum. 2300 years ago the first settlement was founded on the little peninsula by the Greeks. The city owes its picture mainly to the long rule of the Venezianer. Splendid houses of power, palaces and churches mould the townscape. In the heart of the town there are narrow lanes which change all the time the direction and the visitor will feel to be in a beautiful labyrinth where he will find enchanting little squares with unique inviting cafés and restaurants. There are innumerable colourful sailing ships in the harbour. IIn the nearby bays, where fishing villages are situated and protected of heavy storms thanks its location , there are magnificent beaches. Brief, Trogir is unique, delightful and worth seeing.
